It’s been quite some time since I’ve opened up the computer and written about my life.
Surprise surprise… It’s NOT AN EASY HABIT. This year is going to be a little different.
I just moved out of my previous residence, taking a big step and moving in with 3 other musicians. Why you may ask?? To surround myself with like-minded individuals who can help me stay accountable and inspired. It’s been 6 days, and I can already tell it was the right choice.
The vibes are already immaculate.
So for the next year of my life, I’m going to be documenting my journey, every day, every week, every step of the way. I’m a walking, living, breathing movie, time for me to believe it.
Moving into this new creative space has been one of the most inspiring and powerful experiences of my life. For the first time in my creative life, I can separate art from the rest of my life. Although my bedroom studio had a certain charm to it, it was also the place where I slept, ate, gamed, cried, and lived the rest of my strange 24-year-old life. Here I can open the door, let the outside world fade to black, and get to work.
Blake Wiesner, one of my roommates has been throwing these events called “Last Fridays” which happen are essentially artist meetups where we all perform, show demos, and connect. A safe spot that allows artists to share their art freely. It’s been one of the most inspiring, and impactful things that I’ve gotten the chance to be a part of in a long, long time. Now I have the chance to help plan, host, and throw these events… We set up in our living room, built a stage put up some speakers, and BOOM 50 people deep in a suburban home, cops called and everything… But ill save that for another post…
A lot has changed for me internally… and physically. I’ve adopted a slight obsession with my physical transformation falling face-first into lifting weights falling in love with every aspect of it. The activity keeps me disciplined, calm, and looking Goooooooood. I’ll touch on fitness in other blog posts, but for now, enjoy me carrying the boats…^
We must find value in our own lives and our journey. This artist lifestyle can be a lonely road… but it doesn’t have to be. Surround yourself with people who fan your flame, who ignite your inner passion, who believe in you even more than you do. We can’t live this life alone, let these people help you be your best self.
When the darkness comes, and trust me… It will come. Let other lights your way. Dance, love, laugh, and as always… Remember To Breathe, And Enjoy Your…
